Amazon DVD Deals: Sex and the City: The Movie for $3.99!

Oh my word, the Amazon deals on tap for this week are fantastic, and I’ve only really had a look at the Black Friday Movie & TV Deals Calendar for this week! The only catch on these deals, and I don’t know if you can really call it a catch, is that these are all lightning deals and only available for one to four hours.

Here’s a quick look at some of what’s available on Monday (11/23):

The Polar Express: $5.99 (4 a.m. to 8 a.m. PT)

17 Again: $10 (8 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT)

Facing the Giants: $2 (12 p.m. to 4 p.m. PT)

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation: $5.99 (12 p.m. to 4 p.m. PT)

Sex and the City: The Movie: $3.99 (9 p.m. to 12 a.m. PT)

My favorite pick is Sex and the City: The Movie but for east coast folks like me, you’ll have to stay up pretty late to get your hands on this deal. The regular price on Amazon is $11.99, but the list price is $19.98, so to pick this up for $4 is amazing!

Quick note that you will not see the lighting deal prices until the four-hour time window when the DVD is on sale. Good luck!

Black Friday: Do Kids & Shopping the Sales Mix?

I can’t believe it’s only one week to Black Friday. I feel like we’ve been seeing great deals for weeks, but we’re now in the final days to the best bargains of the season. Yikes!

A recent survey by Sitters.com found that 34% of parents plan to find a babysitter for Black Friday. I guess I never really thought about it before, but the idea of shopping on my own is pretty darn appealing. I couldn’t imagine bringing my kids into the mass chaos of Black Friday.

Sitters.com also released several tips to plan for Black Friday, including create a game plan (routines, instructions, snacks, etc.), work out the details of early morning sitter arrivals to keep from disturbing the kids, and plan for the sitter to stay an extra hour so you can recover from your morning (or full day!) of holiday shopping.

So, what’s your plan for Black Friday? Are you taking the kids with you to shop, asking a relative or sitter to watch the kids, or forgoing shopping on Black Friday altogether? In the meantime, get a heads up on the Black Friday deals to help inform your decision. I know I'm still undecided!
