Nice idea! It’s good to know that there are still companies that can give bunos for the consumers of their products or services. I’ve already tried the machine, and I think it really works well. There are a lot of ways to curb a sudden financial crunch; some people do it with payday loans. Another good way to pile up a little extra cash is to collect all your spare change, and then cash it in for profit. Granted, it isn't really profited, but you can make enough money to keep from getting payday loans if you know what you're doing. Coinstar, for instance, is an automated coin cashing service that has machines in grocery stores, banks, and other locations nationwide where you can exchange your coins for cash. The company is seeing a rise in their profit margin and just recently acquired a large share in Redbox, the DVD rental vending machines. Looks like the idea of a piggy bank can keep you from needing payday loans.

I had problems with the machine. It malfunctioned on me and only would give me cash, which the cashier gave me. She had to keep my receipt and therefore I wouldn't get a bonus. I'll try again. I think I have another 40 bucks around in change.

Worth noting that Coinstar takes a cut--about 9% per their FAQ (http://www.coinstar.com/us/html/A5-4)--of whatever change they process. So you're paying at least $3.60 for that $10 gift card; potentially more if you have more than $40 worth of change.
