All You: Meetin’ Mom Bloggers + Grocery Challenge!

I’m off to New York this morning to meet up with my good pals Andrea at Mommy Snacks, Briana at Bargain Briana and Mercedes at Common Sense with Money for an event with All You magazine. We’ll meet the editors, sit on a mom bloggers panel and take a tour of the fashion and beauty area. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

In advance of this quick trip (I live in DC, so it’s just a short hop!), they sent me the July 24 issue and I wanted to make sure you knew about the All You Grocery Challenge. Details are on page 22 and you could win a $1,000 grocery card plus a year’s supply of Knorr side dishes. The winner will also appear on the CBS Early Show at the end of the year!

So, here’s the deal. All You wants you to show off your shopping smarts by spending $25 per family member per week on groceries over a four-week period starting July 13. All the rules can be found at the All You Grocery Challenge sign-up page. Just be sure to register by July 12. You’ll even get weekly emails with tips, recipes and ideas to help you save. Good luck!

$25/week/person = $200 for my family. We'd eat like kings and go grossly over budget. Interesting contest. I'll have to check it out.

Did anyone else laugh when they saw this "challenge"?

Um, not to brag but... my household (2 adults, 1 5yr old boy, no pets) spends just under $50 per week, and that includes all cleaning supplies, toilet paper, kleenex, make-up, feminine supplies, laundry supplies, shampoo, dental cleaners, shaving needs and so on.

$75 a week? Yikes!

I'm with Meg. I also spend about $50 per week (grocery and household) for 2 adults, 1 teenage boy who eats like a beagle (nonstop), and 1 beagle who wishes I'd let her eat like the teenage boy. :-)

Love that the rules say you can use stockpiled food. I'd only need to buy milk and produce!
