What time is 9-12 am EDT? Ts 9 here in AR so it would be 10 Eastern but it says "we are still getting ready". So what is EDT?
Same problem here in Cali...it's 7:25 PST, so it should be a go, but I'm getting the same message as NIK.
I live on the east coast and it's not working here either. 10:30 am.

It's 10:49am and 1000 for the day are already gone. I've been checking the site since 9:30am...missed the tiny window of opportunity for today.
I've been having the same issue. 9 am EDT should be 7 am in UT and 6 am in CA, but the site has said "not ready yet" until nearly 9 am UT time and then I checked again a few minutes later and all the coupons were gone!
What is the deal?!
I can't believe it, but, I got in. Typed fast and somehow got it. It was just by fate that I had randomly checked the site at 9:43ish (central time).
EST here and I tried to go to the website to be ready by 9AM, at 8:55and couldn't get the website to pull up at all. Around 9:15AM, I got the same message that it wasn't time yet. Then I tried at 10AM, and got the same message. Then I was going to try at 11AM and got an opportunity to check around 10:45-ish, and it said they were all given away for the day, and that I wasn't early bird-ish, enough. What's up with that, and what is EDT? Must be an earthly thing. Don't know when to try tomorrow. Guess it's sometime between 10 and 10:45 EST. I'll still check at 9, though. Thanks for reading this rant.

just a bit of clarification for everyone, it says: "The giveaway starts anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 noon EDT.." which means it doesn't necessarily start at 9am.
i'm sure edt is a typo for est.
Actually, it's not a typo. EDT is Eastern Daylight Time (signifying Daylight Savings Time - or summer time). EST is Eastern Standard Time, which is used during the winter.
This has no effect on the coupon problems. Just fyi.....
Actually if you read the site it says that it will start at some point between 9am and noon EDT. Read the site!
On the website it says "The giveaway starts anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 noon EDT but no one knows exactly when! For instance -- it may be 9:15 AM one day, 10:25 AM the next, or 11:51 AM the day after!"
so it's anytime between 9 and 12 but you have just happen to be there at the right time.

Waste of time. Tried this morning and "still gettimg ready" was posted. 2 minutes later tried again and all 1000 were already gone. You'd be better playing the lottery. Before today, I like Burt's Bees, now I have a negative opinion of them manufacturer. I wonder if they thought about that.

Burt's Bee's website says they "randomly" give away 1000 lip balm daily anywhere between 9:00 and noon. Could be 9:13 or 11:59 but you've got to be on the website at that particular time. It's not like the first 1000 people when the site opens at 9:00, you have to keep trying for up to 3 hours! Forget it!
I feel as if the company is making fools of those who try to get a stupid lip balm! I love freebies, but I won't be a foooool for a one dollar lip balm. I will also let the company know how foolish this is. It leads to hard feelings toward the company more than good PR. I use the products, but this "gimmick" leaves a bad impression on me. Give them away or not, but don't make people jump through hoops for a free item.

after reading the website, it says it will start "ANYTIME BETWEEN 9am and Noon". They are clear that the starting times vary each day so there's no way you can tell when the registration opens. I checked, I tried, and considering I"m not a huge Burt's fan, it's not worth anymore of my time.
if you read their site, it clearly stated each day's giveaway start time is RANDOMIZED between 9am and noon eastern time to make things more interesting.

the site says that its a random time each day that it starts and you just have to keep checking in constantly between those 3 hoursto have a chance and you fill out the info and as soon as 1000 people do it its shut off for the day, i hope you have the next 20 days free to play their game for a free lip balm. good luck but im just gonna go to the store and spend the the money on a 3 pack of the lip balm if i run out

It worked for me. I logged on at 9:46 central time and by 9:48 they were all gone. It a random thing it starts antytime between 9-12 and it only lasts a few minutes.
This is ridiculous...it wasn't working and 5 minutes later when I went on tada....ALL GONE!!! Someone is full of crap....I will not even bother to buy this brand now.....it will be a cold day in HELL!!!!!!!
I think it is a publicity stunt. I dont really see anyway all of them are gone in a minute. I don't think they're giving away nearly that many a day! Also, yeah, does seem like a lot of BS. Didn't make me think any better of them, just worse.

I used http://www.ebates.com to buy Burt's Bees chapstick and even though it wasn't free, they did give me a coupon and cash back. It's a pretty sweet deal.
why would people put up with this aggravation..it doesnt cost that much to buy a tube..
