Wegmans (my favorite grocery store!) has now jumped on the "free antibiotics" bandwagon and will be providing nine free generic antibiotics (up to a 14-day supply) through March 31. Among the included antibiotics are amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin and tetracycline.
Last week I posted that Giant Food and Stop & Shop stepped up to offer free antibiotics through March 21, and I also heard feedback that Publix offers free antibiotics year-round.
Have any other stores in your area decided to start offering free antibiotics during cough-and-cold season?

And Publix http://www.publix.com/freeantibiotics/
Most of the grocery stores in my area have been offering generic antibiotics for at least a year now. Kroger, Meijer and Giant Eagle are the 3 that come to mind and it is an ongoing deal, not short term.
This is awful. Cold and flu are caused by viruses. Antibiotics attack bacteria. By taking antibiotics for cold and flu, all we're doing is contributing to the faster rise of deadly superbugs. And if you think these superbugs are just a scare tactic, think again.
My sister almost died last year when a seemingly routine earache ended with brain surgery after a superbug wouldn't respond to antibiotics. That's what happens when people take them unnecessarily - the bacteria mutate and become resistant to antibiotics. It's Biology 101.
You don't need antibiotics for cold or flu!
Amen! Anon about antibiotics. And also: got any antibiotic handcleanser, soap, etc. THROW IT OUT! Again, you're CUTTING your chances that a NEEDED antibiotic will work when you need it. There's more and more cases of resistant strains of bacterium. Stop! For your sake and everyone else!
wow! I never take my kids to the dr for antibiotics unless they are really sick and need them. However I wouldn't slam someone for trying to help people when they actually do need them by telling them where they can get them for free.
