Walgreens: Huge Robitussin Moneymaker

There’s a huge Walgreens moneymaker on Robitussin cough syrup this week. The Robitussin is on sale for $3.99 and when you buy three bottles you get $10 back in Register Rewards. So here’s the deal:

Buy 3 bottles of Robitussin ($3.99 each)
Use 3 $3/1 printable coupons
Spend $2.97, get $10 RR back
Make over $7!

I did this deal at lunchtime today and the cashier said I was the third or fourth person to come in with the printable coupons to take advantage of this special, so hop on this deal right away! Thanks, Money Saving Mom!

I am somewhat new to using printable coupons.

This particular coupon says "Limited one coupon per purchase," so I was wondering how you were able to use three coupons in one purchase?

One quick question. I tried this deal this morning, but my RR didn't print. They told me it was because I used manu coups. Is there something I need to do to make the RRs print properly?

Thanks!
Becky

How do you get more than 1 copy of those coupons? Each has a security code on it and is only supposed to be used once?

I like 99 cent Robitussin but not if it means coupon fraud - it's getting hard enough around here to use coupons as it is, they scrutinize each one so carefully in my area!

I just printed 3 and i sure hope I get to use them and recieve my RR.
i went yesterday and used a $2. coupon on the Excedrin that was on sale.I should have recieved a $1.0 RR,but didn't.I was exhausted and didn't want to bother asking, since I was already getting it free. But if I don't recieve the RR's for this deal,I will ask.

Thanks for posting this offer :)

I've done this deal three times today. Our store just opened two weeks ago. To further sweeten the deal, there was a $3/$10 coupon in our paper today. So, I paid than $1.00 for three bottles AND got the $10.00 RR. I did the deal three times and have $30.00 in RR. This was my first deal at Walgreens and boy was it a good one. Thanks SO much for posting!!!!

Just got back from this deal and it's a good one! Thanks for posting! I got the DM Max b/c the regular was out and our Walgreens had the RR posted by the Max also. However, my RR didn't print and the manager said the Max did not apply to this deal. He removed the sign and gave me a form to send in to received my RR for their mistake. I applied this with some other deals and had a total savings of 93% (plus the $10 I'll get in a few weeks). The manager said they'll get more on Wednesday and I will definately be back.

these coupons are from wyeth healthcare, their policy from what I read on hot coupon world is 1 per family, they let you print all you want, does'nt mean you should 1 transaction is still a good deal roll it into the scrubbing bubbles & other cleaning supplies.lets not ruin a goodthing

I examined the coupon and the website for any indication that there was a limit to how many we can print & couldn't find one. I'm sure my friends here did the same. So I printed & used three. Combined with other coupons I ended up with over $70 worth for under $5 after RR's! My haul is posted at momsbyheart.blogspot.com

RE: The security code

I printed a Robitussin and a Dimetapp coupon and THE CODE IS THE SAME on both coupons even though they are different products. So I do NOT think that the security code has anything to do with how many coupons you can or should print, and therefore is NOT any indication of coupon fraud. Sheesh.

I agree with the other poster who said that Wyeth has given NO indication as to how many coupons it's okay to print. And as far as what they told HCW, if that is their 'standard policy' then why the heck isn't it posted on their website or on the coupon, for goodness sake?!?! No, in my opinion they told HCW that because they freaked out when they realized they were probably going to lose money on this promotion.

Anyhoo, this is a great deal! I tried my usual Wags this morning and they were out, but I'm going to try another one tomorrow and see if I can be as lucky as some of you have been! I want to do Dimetapp-Robitussin-Advil so I can refill my first aid kit.

My register rewards printed when I did it yesterday morning and then didn't print when I tried the deal later that afternoon. The cashier was beyond rude to me when I asked if they printed and he yelled at me saying because I had already used manufacturers coupons I was not entitled to the RR's. He was so awful to me I wrote to walgreens...

I printed three but because it says "limited one coupon per purchase," the register beeped on the second one and they only let me use one. I'm ok with that.

But the RR didn't print and I was told it was because I used a coupon. I'd never heard of that before. The guy rang it up again without the coupon and it still didn't print. He asked a manager and they couldn't figure out why and said "sorry, I hope we can get the RRs to work for you next time. There's nothing I can do." I'm going to write to Walgreens.

I just stumbled upon your website a few weeks ago. Thank you for doing it! You make it so simple. I had a great experience at Walgreens this morning.

I have 4 Walgreens in my town and I have noticed the RR rules are not the same with all of them. For example, I went to store #1 to use a $4.50 RR on a purchase that was suppose to give me a $10 RR and the RR didn't print. The mgr said that my total OOP would need to be greater than $10 since I was using a RR to get a RR in order for it to print. When I tried this same thing at store #2 it worked just fine. Go figure.

One coupon per purchase, means one per item. EACH item is a purchase, and all of it is a transaction... Because these are PRINTABLE coupons, cashier/manager's are more likely to refer to that in error.

justusseven: I've found the rules vary not only by store but by employee. Some managers don't have a clue about the rules and are stingy. Some understand what's going on and those ones seem to be more generous. And some are just downright ornery, like the manager I encountered at the Walgreens near by work today. I think it might be my list visit to that particular store.

PS, in regard to my last comment. I did complain online and I got a call back from the store manager (the store near my home not my work) and he got me the correct RR and a GC for my inconvenience.

You cannot use RR to pay for an transaction that should print oou RR. It is called "piggybacking". They made the change to stop allowing people to "piggyback" a few months ago. Also, you can used RR and mfg coupons, but they must be rung out AFTER you apply the RR. The registers/Catalina printers know when to print out coupons and when not to. I understand people wanting a good deal, but how many Robitussins do you need? They do expire eventually and stores won't exchange them later. Please also be aware that if you return any of your items that you got the RR for, you also have to surrender your RR or you can be refused a refund.
