I feel like I hit the CVS jackpot today. I bought $30 worth of goods and spent $0.00. Now that’s a good day at CVS. Here’s what I bought:
Infants’ Advil drops: $5.79
Alavert (18-ct): $5.99
Carefree pantiliners (60-ct): $2.79
2 x Colgate Total toothpaste: $2.79 (buy-one-get-one-free)
3 x Johnson’s Buddies soaps: $2.97
Here are the coupons I used:
$2/10 CVS in-store coupon

Carefree pantiliners (60-ct): $2.79

3 x Johnson’s Buddies soaps: $2.97
Here are the coupons I used:
$2/10 CVS in-store coupon
$1/1 Infants’ Advil printable coupon
$4/1 Alavert printable coupon
$2/1 Carefree CRT
$.50/1 Carefree printable coupon
2 x $1/1 Colgate coupon from 7/27 SS insert
$2/1 Colgate CRT
$2/2 Johnson’s Buddies printable coupon
$1/1 Johnson’s Buddies printable coupon
$4 ECBs
The total was an overage of $.14 but the manager could not give me money back so she just added $.14 to the total to make it $0.00. No complaints here. Plus, I got back $5.79 ECBs from the Infants’ Advil and $3 ECBs from the Alavert.
So have you hit the CVS jackpot with a total due of $0.00? Or how close have you come? I’d love to hear your stories!

Wow!! I haven't even come close to 0 in a long long time. Your post was very inspiring! :)
Congrats!! Isn't it exciting when that that happens! I think it's the adrenaline rush at checkout that keeps me deal hunting!
I got close today..I hit $0.00 before tax, after tax it was $0.24.
I've only hit $0.00 once since I started CVSing in May 08 (you can check out the details on my blog about today's CVS trip).
I enjoy reading your blog, so keep posting!
I had to comment when I saw your post. I had my first zero out of pocket today. I was so excited. Even my cashier congratulated me. So I must congratulate you in return!
I am going to try to copy you tomorrow. =) I've been having trouble printing IPs I think because I have a Mac so I'm getting my PC hubby to try...
Also, what is a CRT? Thanks for your help.

Did those Buddies soaps count toward the $25/5 baby products ecb deal? I was wondering if the $.99 bars would count, or if it was just things priced at $2.99.
Check out my post about my CVS Jackpot as well! I walked out with everything for FREE and only paid the tax of $.24 to satisfy the cashier. I just get so excited when I get great deals, don't you!!!

Yes I did last week! It was a negative -.64 cent but I had to buy a candy to bring my total over. I had a grand total of 20 cents! It was the best I've ever done.
I bought 18 bottle of Pert Plus and 6 Sure deordorants that were BOGO. I also had the BOGO Sure coupons and 18 $2 off Pert Plus coupons. I made a post about it using your idea about how much can you buy for $5 to give to charity. All these items will be donated. Great blog and I love that idea.
1 Ban Deoderant $1.99
1 Alevert $5.99
1 Bic Soleil $4.99
2 Covergirl lipslicks BOGO $3.99
Presavings total - $16.96
Savings:
1 MC Ban Deo. $1.00
1 MC Covergirl lipsticks $1.00
1 MC Bic Soleil $3.00
1 IC Alevert $4.00
ECB's $7.99
Total Savings - $16.99
ECB's for future - $3.00
Add .61 for tax and my OOP was .58 cents!!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited I could fall down!
That is absolutely awesome. I haven't gotten close to that. I can't print coupons right now so I am missing out on some good savings. I want to be just like you when I grow up.
Oh you’re so lucky. I had one trip where I ended up with a negative of 6 cents (and of course they don’t sell anything worth 6 cents lol). The cashier & manager refused to reduce my ecb to make the transaction zero...or to add 6 cents to the transaction.
I had to buy one of those school supply things they sell for 50 cents (it was the cheapest thing I could think of that wasn’t candy). And I got attitude about the whole situation on top of it. Which is hilarious because if they had just added 6 cents or reduced my ecb then, they would have actually profited that money from me.
He even refused to take off the ecb I had given him so I could switch it out w/one that was worth slightly less. Yeah I wasn’t thrilled about that trip. Yes I got great deals and for free basically, but I don’t like being forced to buy something that I had no intention of buying in the first place.
But for as often as we all shop at CVS I guess statistically we can’t expect every trip to be a great one. Luckily there are a million CVS near where I live, so I can easily take my business elsewhere is customer service isn't adequate.
