Harris Teeter: Get 8 FREE Boxes of Eggo Waffles

I went to Harris Teeter last night since I was dying to find out if a deal in their weekly ad was too good to be true. This week they’re running a “Back-to-School Cash” promotion. Just purchase 8 Kellogg’s, Keebler, Sunshine or Eggo products with your VIC card and get $10 back.

I looked over the list of qualifying items and noticed that Eggo waffles were 4/$5. I quickly figured out that 8 boxes of Eggo waffles would cost $10, and then I’d get $10 back, making all 8 boxes totally FREE.

I was sure this was too good to be true, that in fact this was a mis-print. I got to the store and looked around for signage indicating it was an error in the weekly ad. I went to the freezer case and in fact all of the Eggo waffles were marked 4/$5.

I put 8 boxes in my basket and headed to checkout. Of course, the certificate did not print out (the Catalina printer was jammed). So I went to Customer Service, and no questions asked they just gave me $10. Actually it was a $10 gift card. The manager asked if I wanted cash or a gift card. I said whatever was easiest, and really, I didn’t want to make a fuss and I knew I’d be back anyway.

I probably could have waited until Sunday since there will be a $1/2 Eggo Waffles coupon in this weekend’s coupon insert, but I was afraid I’d miss out on this deal if I did. I’m sure glad my kids like frozen waffles as much as they do!

Man, I wish we had a HT here!!!

After clicking on the link to the weekly ad, there is no mention of the BackToSchool cash promotion. What am I missing?

HT is such a drive for me...but we eat a LOT of waffles over here. Oh, what do I do? Take a cooler so they don't defrost on the way home?

The promotion isn't listed on the website, but is in the paper flier in the store.

Also, mine printed out a mail in form voucher for a 10 check, instead if receiving a gift card.

Any idea if there is a limit?

I believe it's a limit of 1. Mine was supposed to print out a mail-in certificate. They just gave me a gift card b/c the Catalina printer jammed and my certificate did not print out like it should have.
