Grocery Sales: Why So Ho-Hum This Week?

What do you think about the grocery sales this week? I was perusing the ads yesterday for my local stores – Bloom, Giant, Safeway and Harris Teeter – and I just wasn’t that impressed.

Sure, there were some fairly good sales on the typical barbecue fare – hot dogs, ground beef, ketchup, mustard, ice cream. But beyond that, I was left wanting more. I have a short list of basics I need to pick up this weekend, none of which is on sale. Can I wait one more week in hopes that the post-holiday store sale prices will improve? I guess I’ll find out.

So what do you think about the grocery sales in your area this week? Are they as unimpressive as they are in my area?

We live in a tourist area so the deals are FAB for us! Of course we don't have much competition around here so we don't get SUPER FAB deals like a lot of areas (no CVS, no Target, no Aldis, no Trader Joe's ~ only Walmart, Walgreens, Hyvee and Fareway).

I need a break from shopping during holidays. I'm fine with it. I've a good stockpile and we're just using some of that this week.
